Kai&Yen in the 2nd Stage of the Adventure
Kai&Yen have gone through the 1st stage of their Cycle Around the World Adventure. On May 3rd, the second stage of their grand-trip has started.
Their two-and-half year trip began on the 7th of April. The first stop was Thailand where they heard explosions during their ride down towards Malaysia. Despite of language barriers, they experienced fine hospitalities from friendly Thai people.
Kai&Yen’s last day in Thailand was spent on the train to avoid the turmoil in the southern part of the country. The ride in Malaysia was smooth. Although they did not ride all the way from the northern border to the southern tip, Kai&Yen did spend extra day in the historic and cultural town of Malacca. The town reminds them of the familiar feeling of southern Taiwan.
The first stage of their trip was concluded upon their arrival in Perth, Australia where they waited for the
arrival of tires and tubes sponsored by Maxxis. These supplies were shipped urgently to help Kai&Yen go through the 15,000 km long second stage of their trip.
On the 3rd of May, their journey around the continent started. They headed to Sydney via the northern route. In Sydney, they will take the flight to New Zealand. After finishing the ride in the island country, they will fly back to Sydney to continue the southern half of their trip around Australia.
In this oldest continent, they will face the extreme dryness, and miles and miles of wilderness. It is a challenge both physically and mentally to the young couple. The good news is, Kangaroos and Koalas will be their good companion.
Wish them good luck. For details of their trip log, please check http://bicycle-entire-world.blogspot.com/, and again, Kai&Yen still need a lot of help to complete their great adventure. Donations are welcome. Bank information can be found in their blog.
Go Kai! Go Yen!
